Kristen Persilver, MA, LPC

Kristen Persilver, MA, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas whose practice focuses on evaluations for legal and court-related matters. Her work includes child custody, adoption, and immigration evaluations, providing courts and attorneys with clear, objective information regarding family relationships, high-stakes assessments, and factors that may impact the well-being and stability of children and families.

She has completed specialized training in child custody and adoption evaluations by experienced evaluators. Her professional development includes training in family systems, domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed assessment, cultural competency,  and courtroom testimony. She conducts evaluations in accordance with professional guidelines, including those outlined by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and relevant provisions of the Texas Family Code. She is currently under the supervision of Tammi Axelson, DSW, LMSW-IPR and Cecilia Powers, LCSW-S.

Kristen has advanced clinical training in conducting mental health evaluations for immigration cases. Her professional development includes specialized instruction in trauma-informed assessment, cultural considerations in immigration cases, and the clinical and legal standards governing psychological evaluations in immigration proceedings. She is trained to assess and document psychological factors relevant to cases such as asylum, hardship waivers, VAWA, U visas, and T visas, in accordance with current professional and ethical guidelines.

Prior to focusing on evaluation work, Kristen developed a strong clinical background working with individuals and families navigating trauma, high-conflict divorce, coparenting, and significant life transitions.  Earlier in her career, she worked in the public school system as a school counselor, supporting children’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs in educational settings and collaborating closely with parents and educators. This experience provides a strong foundation in child development and family dynamics, informing her thoughtful approach to the evaluation process.

Kristen approaches each evaluation with professionalism, objectivity, and careful assessment. Her goal is to provide balanced, well-supported information that assists attorneys and courts in understanding complex family situations.
