CHILD CUSTODY EVALUATIONS

Even after a parenting plan is in place, parents may continue to disagree about how to carry it out. Disputes about schedules, exchanges, school activities, communication, or a child’s changing needs can become difficult to resolve when trust is low. Parenting facilitation and parenting coordination give parents a structured process for addressing those issues while keeping their children’s needs in view.

Kristen Persilver, MA, LPC, serves as an impartial third party. Depending on the duties set out in the court’s order, she may meet with parents, help identify the issue in dispute, clarify misunderstandings, and work with them toward practical solutions. This is a distinct role from therapy or a child custody evaluation.

Parenting coordination uses confidential procedures. Parenting facilitation is not confidential and may include monitoring compliance with court orders and reporting to the court. Both roles require a court appointment under the Texas Family Code.
